Swaziland – AR World Series in the Kingdom of Adventure


Round 4 of the Adventure Racing World Series was at Expedition Africa, which was held this year in the Kingdom of Swaziland and attracted 23 teams from all around the globe. The race, organised by Stephan and Heidi Muller of Kineticgear, is popular with teams who want to experience African culture, landscape and wildlife on their racing expeditions, and Swaziland delivered on all fronts. The race venue was at the Lugogo Sun Hotel in the Royal Swazi Spa Valley Resort, where teams were welcomed with traditional drumming and dancing at the opening ceremonies. ARWS 2015 Expedition Africa Underway


Expedition Africa, the fourth Qualifying round of the 2015 Adventure Racing World Series (ARWS) has just begun in the Kingdom of Swaziland. ?? teams are now racing over a 450km course of trekking, mountain biking, kayaking and caving. Teams commenced the race this morning officially at the spectacular Sebebe Rock with a 33km canyon trek. On the first day of racing, Team Estonia has taken the lead but is closely followed by two South African teams Jabberwock and Cyanosis Adventure Racing, then the Swedish team Sweco. WildAid Launches ‘Ivory Free’ Campaign


Reduce demand for ivory and put an end to the killing of Africa’s Elephants San Francisco – WildAid is calling on the public to do its part to end the ivory poaching crisis by taking the Ivory Free pledge at ivoryfree.org. The new campaign asks consumers to pledge to never buy, own or accept ivory as gifts, and to support stronger government bans and actions to tackle the illegal ivory trade. FIRST STAGE WIN FOR PAULISSEN AND CHIARINI; MENNEN AND HYNEK REMAIN IN THE LEAD HEROES OF THE DAY KAUFMANN AND KAESS COME TO THE RESCUE The day again proved that the Absa Cape Epic is not for the faint-hearted. For the third consecutive day a top rider in the Men’s category withdrew. This time it was Rudi van Houts, partner of José Hermida (Multivan Merida Biking). Van Houts crashed on Thursday and even though he started the stage, could not go on. This follows the withdrawals of Hannes Genze and Karl Platt on Wednesday and Thursday respectively.
