Tecnu proves they are Cowboy Tough with a three-peat performance in Wyoming

Tecnu Extreme Adventure Racing retains their title as the reigning champions at the Cameco Cowboy Tough Expedition Race. After more than 3 days of racing, strategy proved to be the deciding factor as Tecnu was able to outlast the Swedish Armed Forces team, which dropped out during day 3. This was also the team’s second Adventure Racing World Series win in less than a month. Team YogaSlackers crossed the finish line in second place after overcoming an early issue during the race when one of the team members was unable to hold food down. It Takes Strength…and Strategy

For some competitors in the Cameco Cowboy Tough (CCT) 3.5-day Expedition Race across Wyoming, Day 3 started before Day 2 ended for other teams. As with any endurance event, competitors must be physically tough enough to put in the distance and just as strong mentally to keep those feet moving forward. But in adventure racing, strategy often comes in to play. Do you rest or do you try to find as many checkpoints as possible? It depends on the race and your team. Cameco Cowboy Tough participants then biked away from civilization, heading to Lake DeSmet, where they will transitioned to canoes after which point they could choose to collect… Read More →

2nd Annual Rev3 Adventure Cowboy Tough Expedition Race Pre-Race Predictions

By Kyle Peter The 2nd annual 4 day Cowboy Tough ‘stage’ race starts Thursday near Lander, Wyoming and finishes on Sunday in Casper, Wyoming. In typical Rev3 fashion each day’s distances by discipline have been announced (including an elevation profile of Day 1) revealing a long day 1 in the Wind Rivers via bike and foot that may prove to be difficult to clear by any team. Cowboy Tough uses a unique format that makes it part expedition race / part stage race. There is an ‘End of Day Camp’ that all teams need to reach at the end of everyday by a certain time as well as a time all teams need to be starting the next day. Teams… Read More →
